Detroit Bankruptcy Judge Pushes Hearing on Debt Plan to August 14

After bankruptcy judge Steven Rhodes postponed the start of a hearing to confirm Detroit's debt adjustment plan, the city contended that the delay was unwarranted. Jim Spiotto cautioned that rushing the case could inadvertently provide creditors with ammunition to claim denial of due process in an appeal.
