Jim Spiotto spoke at the 5th Annual Municipal Finance Conference in Washington, DC. Jim participated in a panel discussion on the impact of Detroit and Puerto Rico's financial distress on the municipal market and the best approaches to handling the financial distress of local government. The conference was co-sponsored by the Brookings Institute's Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy, the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, and the Rosenberg Institute of Global Finance at the Brandeis International Business School.
